Shopping Day
We decided to have a quiet day in Sorrento. We got moving slowly and Jack and a nice breakfast at his local cafe. We went out and walked thru the old city looking at a variety of shops. Jack decided to buy some gifts for his family at the small local shops. The mother and daughter run the place and you have to pay cash to get a discount. There is a very unique sandwich place about a block away where two ladies turn out these fabulous panini sandwiches piled high with meat and cheese and sauces. We split one for lunch and it was a lot of food.
We walked to a local mailbox place and priced out shipping stuff back instead of buying a third piece of luggage and paying the luggage fees. Turns out it’s about the same price but a lot easier if we are not dragging a third bag for the final week of our trip. We will pack about 25 pounds of gifts and hiking stuff and it will arrive in California after we get back.
We took a break in the afternoon at our Airbnb and then headed out for wine and more shopping around 5. It was a beautiful day and we love strolling the narrow streets around our place.
We went just down the street to a wonderful local restaurant named o’Muzzili. We each got a small entree and then shared between us. This restaurant always had a line by 6:30 which indicates how good the food is. We went back to it place and took another break. Then Jack went out and got gelato to finish the evening along with lemonciello. It was another wonderful day!
